My YouTube channel just hit 5 million views… and it’s not just me clicking on my own videos! To celebrate, I’m uploading a few special items.
First off, here’s a Best-of reel from my Standup Comedy Specials :
Here, you’ll find clips from my earliest comedy special How to Be Orange (2012) “Making the Dutch Take Their Own Assimilation Exam.” In which I share my favorite Dutch brand names and signs that do NOT translate well into English. And I revisit that theme with List Pusher (2022) “an American Netherlander joins Dutch Politics.” Of course you’ll find Trump-themed material from my recent specials The Madness of King Donald (2019) and Leaving Trumpland 2.0 (2024) “No Country for Old Men.”

Leaving Trumpland 2.0
You may have noticed I’ve been uploading my 2024 solo show to YouTube in chapters, specially for people with short attention spans. BUT to celebrate 5 million views, I’ve also uploaded Leaving Trumpland 2.0 “No Country for Old Men” in its entirety.
I was really happy with this 2024 show. Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant gave it 4 stars: “Lively …emotional …tightly constructed performance.”

How it Started
It all started with a video I voiced in 2004, for the Boom Chicago Comedy Theater: “the Florida Voting Machine video.” It went “viral” before YouTube even existed. People spread the word via email attachment. This video went on to be listed by Time Magazine in their Most Influential Election Videos of 2004.
YouTube launched in 2005. Boom Chicago started their Video Department in 2005. I started my YouTube channel in 2006. By 2007 I was hosting Comedy Central News in the Netherlands and making mobile phone content for Fremantle & Rhythm New Media. After the Housing Crisis in 2010, I started my own YouTube series “The United States of Europe.” I’ve spent so much time focusing on Quantity. Now I’m focusing more on Quantity. How much money am I making from all these views? “A nice round number” (aka zero). But if people keep watching, I’ll keep creating.
And of course all this hype is to promote my next show for fall 2026, KING ME: 250 Years of Donald Trump. I hope to see you there!
